President Bola Tinubu has departed Abuja on a two-week diplomatic visit to France, Kenya, and Rwanda, aimed at strengthening Nigeria’s global partnerships and advancing key economic reforms.

The President left the Presidential Wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport aboard Nigeria Air Force One at about 2 p.m. on Sunday. He was seen off by top government officials, including Chief of Staff Femi Gbajabiamila and other senior aides.

Tinubu’s first stop will be France, after which he will proceed to Kenya to participate in the Africa-France Summit scheduled for May 11 to 12. The summit, co-chaired by Emmanuel Macron and William Ruto, will focus on issues such as energy transition, green industrialisation, digital transformation, climate action, and global financing reforms.

The President’s participation is expected to highlight Nigeria’s commitment to strengthening ties with African nations and France, while promoting ongoing reforms aimed at attracting investment.

Following the Kenya engagement, Tinubu will travel to Rwanda to attend the Africa CEO Forum from May 14 to 15. The forum, themed “Scale or Fail,” will bring together over 2,000 business leaders, investors, and policymakers to discuss strategies for accelerating economic growth through regional integration and cross-border investments.

In addition to the multilateral events, the President is expected to hold high-level meetings with global and African business leaders during the trip.

Tinubu, accompanied by key ministers and senior government officials, is scheduled to return to Nigeria after concluding the Rwanda leg of the tour.
