Vice President Kashim Shettima has called on Nigerians to continue praying for peace, unity and stability in the country, assuring citizens of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s commitment to restoring security nationwide.
Speaking on Friday after a special Democracy Day Jummat prayer at the National Mosque in Abuja, Shettima said the Federal Government remains determined to secure the release of citizens held by bandits and terrorists and to address the country’s security challenges.
“I want to assure Nigerians of President Bola Tinubu’s unwavering commitment towards restoring peace and stability in the nation,” he said, expressing confidence that the current challenges would be overcome.
The Vice President urged citizens to pray for the nation and one another, stressing that what unites Nigerians is greater than what divides them.
In his sermon, the Chief Imam of the National Mosque, Haroun Eze, called on Nigerians to remain patriotic and urged leaders at all levels to take decisive steps to improve security and promote peace.
The prayer session was attended by several dignitaries, including Kwara State Governor and Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq; Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris; Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Gboyega Oyetola; former Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje; and other top government officials.
