Fans of the World Cup bound Nigeria’s Super Eagles team are celebrating the latest theme song to come on board in the form of a video commercial by soft drinks company, Pepsi.
The video which is doing the rounds on several social networking sites features players from the Nigerian football team and prominent Nigerian celebrities including pop stars Wizkid, Davido and Tiwa Savage and former football international, Austin JJ Okocha.
The song dubbed ‘Naija All The Way’ speaks of a Nigerian Spirit that cannot be defeated even when Nigerians lose. The artists and footballers proudly thump their chests in a salute, almost similar to the now famous Wakanda salute from the ‘Black Panther’ movie.
Scorer of Nigeria’s solitary goal in their 1-2 loss to the Three Lions of England in an international friendly match over the weekend, Alex Iwobi is also featured in the video alongside another star player and Chelsea winger, Victor Moses.
The Super Eagles will face Croatia on June 16 at the Kaliningrad Stadium in their opening game of the Russia 2018 World Cup before taking on Iceland on June 22 at the Volgograd Arena, while their last group game is against the Lionel Messi-led Argentine team at the Krestovsky Stadiu in St.Petersburg.
