North-East governors elected under the platform of the ruling All Progressives Congress have endorsed the re-election bid of President Muhammadu Buhari based on his performance so far.

The APC governors made the endorsement at the end of a two-day North-East zonal meeting of the party held in Bauchi on Sunday.

Speaking on behalf of the governors shortly after the meeting, Governor Kashim Shettima of Borno State said Buhari has performed extremely well, adding that the sub-region has benefitted immensely from the programmes of his administration.

“We all know the sorry state of the country, we are the net beneficiaries of President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration in terms of appointments, securing lives and property and projects.  The Mambilla hydropower project in Gembu, Taraba State alone is a game changer in this part of the world. 

“Therefore North-East is Buhari’s territory. Believe me, the sub-region will solely back him in 2019 general election,” he asserted.

Others who attended the meeting included governors Bindow Jibrila of Adamawa State, Mohammed Abubakar of Bauchi State and former governors Isa Yuguda of Bauchi and Modu Sheriff of Borno states among others.
