United States President, Donald Trump has congratulated British Prime Minister, Boris Johnson and his Conservative Party over their decisive majority victory in the UK general election.
In a Friday tweet, Trump congratulated Mr. Johnson for what he described as a great win, adding that the US would now be able to strike a massive trade deal with Britain after Brexit.
“This deal has the potential to be far bigger and more lucrative than any deal that could be made with the EU,” Trump added in the tweet.
Speaking after the victory, Mr. Johnson said he now had a mandate to take the UK out of the European Union next month , noting that some EU leaders have said they welcomed the clarity on the Brexit issue.
