
President Muhammadu Buhari is expected in Benin City today to campaign for the gubernatorial candidate of his party, the All Progressives Congress , Godwin Obaseki. The Edo State governorship elections are scheduled for Saturday,September 10.
The party’s chairman in Edo State, Anselm Ojezua revealed this while speaking to journalists on Monday . Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and other key members of the APC are also expected to be at the rally. To ensure a hitch-free convention, soldiers and security operatives have been deployed to the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, venue of the event.
According to Ojezua, “All logistics to ensure free movement of the visitors and party supporters across the state have also been perfected. Anytime the APC is holding a rally, there is always mass mobilization.”
The Edo APC leader has also urged all people in the city to give a warm welcome to the President regardless of political affiliations and bias stating, “Once the people know that the President is coming this time around, our people would be so excited to receive him.”
