A Kuje Magistrate Court in Abuja has granted bail to House of Representatives member for Aba North and South, Alex Ikwechegh, in the sum of ₦500,000. Ikwechegh was arraigned for allegedly assaulting a Bolt driver, Stephen Abuwatseya, outside his Abuja residence.
In the video, the lawmaker can be heard threatening the driver and assuring him of his ability to make him vanish without a trace. The incident has sparked outrage, with many calling for Ikwechegh to be held accountable for his alleged actions.
During the court hearing, the Kuje Magistrate Court granted Ikwechegh bail in the sum of ₦500,000. The court’s decision to grant bail to the House of Representatives member comes after he was arraigned for the alleged assault on the Bolt driver.
