Rivers State governor, Nyesom Wike and his Bayelsa State counterpart, Seriake Dickson have agreed to strengthen the co-operation between them and enhance the rapid development of their states.
The two governors reached the agreement on Thursday when Wike paid a working visit to Dickson at the Bayelsa State Government House in Yenagoa.
Addressing newsmen shortly after the closed-door meeting which also had the Bayelsa State Deputy Governor, Admiral John Jonah and Prince Uche Secondus, the former Acting National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in attendance, Governor Wike said the states would work together to uplift the spirit of regional co-operation.
“We will work together, we will partner together, economically, politically and otherwise to develop our two states. This co-operation will be taken further to the South-South Governors Forum. We are working out fresh modalities for the growth of our states,” Wike said.
