One of the national chairmanship aspirants of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and former governor of Cross River State, Chief Clement Ebri has withdrawn his candidature.
With the withdrawal, Ebri joins Chief Ibrahim Emokpaire and a former governor of Edo State, Oserheimen Osunbor who had earlier withdrawn from the contest. This leaves the immediate past governor of Edo State, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole as the sole contender for the position.
Ebri said his decision to withdraw his candidature was taken in the overall interest of the party, adding that such decision was necessary to avoid rancor ahead of the 2019 general elections.
