Mrs. Omon Olohigbe Omoike is a woman of many parts, a true phenomenon. A woman of great achievements and compassion, she is the Founder and Proprietress of the Salem Montessori School, Benin-City.

Salem Montessori School is a top notch learning facility providing standard learning and special packages for children with Autism, Down Syndrome, Dyslexia, Cerebral Palsy and other special needs.Not only that, her work at Salem Montessori School has led to the rehabilitation and reintegration of over one hundred indigent children in Edo state.

An astute consultant and Special Needs Educator, Mrs. Omon Olohigbe Omoike acquired her Nigeria Certificate in Education from the Federal Polytechnic, Auchi. She proceeded to the famous University of Benin and obtained her Bachelor of Education (B. Ed) in 2003. She acquired an international diploma in Montessori pedagogy from the MLC, London, United Kingdom in 2006. She also has a professional certificate in Autism and Spectrum Disorder from the University of Texas, USA (2014).

She has conducted several awareness campaigns across Nigeria on Autism and  Down Syndrome in collaboration with the International Federation of Women for the Special Child (FODA) and the Osikwe Empowerment and Development Initiative (OSEDI).

Mrs. Omoike has attended various career path specific programs and seminars. She is a regular participant of the GTBank of Nigeria Annual Autism Spectrum Disorder Seminar. She is also a recipient of several awards including the Best Teacher of the Year award of the Igbinedion Education Centre (2003/2004) academic session, and an award in outdoor activities (Montessori Centenary) from the prestigious Montessori Centre International, London (2004) during her time as a Montessori Directress in the school.

It is in recognition of her contribution to national development in the sphere of Special Needs Children Education that Mrs. Omon Olohigbe Omoike is deemed worthy to be conferred with the Woman of Merit Gold Award.
