Algeria and Angola on Monday signed 11 agreements and memorandums of understanding to deepen cooperation in sectors including investment, telecommunications, mining, oil and gas.
The agreements were signed in the presence of Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune and Angolan President Joao Lourenco during Lourenco’s official visit to Algeria.
The deals covered areas such as vocational training, information technology, higher education, pharmaceuticals, air transport and energy cooperation.
Both countries also signed cooperation agreements between their diplomatic training institutions.
Speaking after bilateral talks, Tebboune described Algeria’s relationship with Angola as “historic” and reaffirmed Algeria’s support for Angola in training and capacity-building.
He also announced plans to launch direct flights between both countries from July to boost trade and bilateral relations.
