The Lagos State Government has announced that the Third Mainland Bridge which was temporarily closed for investigative maintenance test has been reopened. It was re-opened by 5 pm on Sunday.
According to the Permanent Secretary of the state Ministry of Transportation, Dr. Taiwo Salaam, the decision to re-open the bridge earlier than announced followed the completion of the test by engineers.
Salaam also used the opportunity to thank motorists and residents for their cooperation and patience while the closure lasted.
The bridge, which was scheduled to be reopened by midnight of August 26 was temporarily shut by the Lagos State government in partnership with the Federal Government.
