The ruling All Progressives Congress has won all the 27 seats in the local government election conducted in Imo State on Saturday.
The election was boycotted by the main opposition parties, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the All Progressives Alliance (APGA), leaving about 14 other political parties to participate in the election.
The results of the election which was announced by the Chairman of the Imo State Independent Electoral Commission (ISIEC), Ethelbert Ibebuchi showed that the APC also won in 636 wards out of 645.
Ibebuchi said there were irregularities in five wards but he commended the state government, security agencies and the electorate for the peaceful conduct of the election.
