Former Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Senator Bala Mohammed on Monday emerged as the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the 2019 general election.
Announcing the results of the primary election, the Chairman of the PDP Electoral Panel in the state, Chief Dan Orbih said that Mohammed scored 1,335 to defeat his two opponents, Senator Abdul Ningi who polled 802 and Senator Adamu Ibrahim Gumba who got 15 votes.
Orbih disclosed that only 32 invalid votes were recorded during the election, adding that the election was free, fair, peaceful and conducted in accordance with electoral guidelines and the party’s constitution.
While urging PDP members to remain loyal to the party and also work hard to reclaim Bauchi State, Orbih commended the delegates for their resilience and the maturity they displayed before, during and after the exercise.
