Nigeria’s Minister of State for Environment, Ibrahim Usman Jibrin has resigned his appointment following his emergence as the new Emir of Nasarawa. Nasarawa is one of the most prominent towns in Nasarawa State.

He tendered his resignation on Wednesday during the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting which was presided over by President Muhammadu Buhari. A valedictory session was later on held for him.

Jibrin was appointed Minister in December 2015 when the Environment Ministry was constituted. His appointment followed his screening and confirmation by the Nigerian Senate.
