Alhaji Sarafadeen Isola, the Caretaker Committee Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Osun State has said that the former governor of the state, Olagunsoye Oyinlola has forgiven the party.
Isola stated this in Oshogbo, the state capital on Tuesday when he led the committee and other chieftains of the party to the residence of the former Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Fatai Akinbade.
He revealed that the delegation had yesterday gone to Okuku to beg the former governor to forgive them and were in Akinbade’s residence to also beg him to return to the fold of the PDP.
“We started what we are doing here yesterday. We went to Prince Oyinlola to beg him and he forgave us,” Isola said.
“We came to beg Oluomo (Akinbade) to return to the house which we jointly built and we hope he will forgive us before we leave here today,” he added.
Isola further stated that the delegation was on a reconcilliatory tour to beg all its former chieftains who left the party following disagreements.
Oyinlola, who ruled the state from 2003 to 2010 before an Appeal Court nullified his election, defected to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) after the PDP refused to carry out an Appeal Court order which ordered his reinstatement as the National Secretary of the party.
